You know what your comics are worth today. But do you know what they were worth last month? Which publisher is giving you the best return? Whether that Amazing Spider-Man run is trending up or quietly bleeding value?
Analytics Dashboard answers all of it. It turns your Comic Collector data into the kind of charts and metrics you’d expect from a stock portfolio tracker — because that’s what a comic collection is.
Here’s what you get:
Open the Analytics page and the first thing you see is your portfolio summary: total value with period change, total cost basis, overall ROI percentage, comic count, and cumulative sales revenue. A range picker lets you view 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, or a full year.
Below that, four interactive charts powered by Chart.js paint the full picture. The Portfolio Value Over Time line chart plots your collection’s estimated value against your cost basis — you can see exactly when your portfolio pulled away from what you paid. The Value by Publisher doughnut breaks down where your money is concentrated. Value by Era shows your exposure across Golden, Silver, Bronze, Copper, and Modern Age books. And Sales Over Time charts your revenue and profit from every sale.
The Biggest Movers section splits into Gainers and Losers, showing which books had the largest percentage swings since their last price update. This is where you spot the book that quietly doubled while you weren’t looking — or the one that’s sliding and might be worth selling before it falls further.
Three ROI tables give you the numbers behind the charts. Top Holdings ranks your ten most valuable books with per-comic ROI. ROI by Publisher shows which publishers are making you money and which are dead weight. ROI by Title ranks every title in your collection by total profit.
How does it work behind the scenes?
A daily cron job takes a snapshot of your entire portfolio — total value, cost, counts, publisher breakdowns, era distribution, and grade data — and stores it in a dedicated table. When you first activate the plugin, it backfills historical data from your existing price history, so you don’t start with a blank chart. Over time, the snapshots accumulate and your charts get richer.
Alerts keep you informed without checking constantly.
The system monitors every price update and flags comics that move more than your configured threshold — default is 20%, but you can set it anywhere from 5% to 100%. It also watches for portfolio milestones ($1K, $5K, $10K, $25K, $50K, $100K and up) and all-time portfolio highs. Alerts appear in a scrollable feed on the Analytics page and as a badge count in the admin menu.
Email digests are entirely optional — your choice.
If you want them, toggle email alerts on in settings and pick daily or weekly. Each digest includes a portfolio snapshot, your current ROI, and every alert triggered since the last email. If you don’t want email, leave it off — the on-screen alerts still work.
There’s also a WordPress Dashboard widget that appears on your main WP admin home screen. It shows your portfolio value, ROI, a 30-day sparkline, your top three 7-day movers, and quick links to the full analytics page. You see your collection’s pulse every time you log in.
